The Beaver post office was founded in 1889 to accommodate the early pioneers. In those days was home to a school, churches, grocery stores, general stores, a hotel, blacksmith shop, feed store, taverns and the Beaver Creamery Association cheese factory. Beaver was named for the North American beaver that dominated the creeks, mountains and buttes around the area in abundance. Its highly sought pelt created an industry boom, which greatly influenced the exploration and the development of the Western world. Now in the 21st century, visitors come to explore the area due to its abundant natural beauty.

It is located twelve miles south of Tillamook. The Nestucca River flows through this small historic settlement. You will find that this provides a great place to hike, kayak, fish, or just relax with a nice picnic lunch. With Tillamook just a short distance away, there are plenty of restaurants and places to stay. So whether you are a Beaver or a Duck, bring your pioneering spirit and blaze your own trail to Tillamook County, and enjoy the beauty of nature that will surround you in Beaver, Oregon.
